All of this is a quality control discipline that allows us to evaluate, manage, use, improve, monitor, maintain and protect your organization’s information.
To ensure that data governance processes are followed, guidelines are applied and process improvements are recommended; thus a data steward function exists or is created. The objective of this is to use and improve processes to prevent and correct data problems in order to improve data quality and availability.
BIG DATA
In a world where data is growing constantly and at a varying speed, tools are required to meet the current demand of how to optimally process data and how to analyze and use it effectively and in a timely manner.
Analyzing data and its characteristics, such as: volume, velocity, variety, veracity and value, allows us to generate a data lake where we expose information with different uses and storage.
This can be done in 3 modalities:
- A layer with large amount of data and low velocity, where historical information from all available sources is stored to make models and turn them into the basis for long-term data science.
- Layer with structured data, containing the information for the daily operation of the organization.
- High-speed data layer with “live memory” that provides real-time information, such as a graph or the position on a map of some monitored element.
DATA SCIENCE
Related to data assets and big data, data science is what allows us to find thevalue of information. This field involves scientific methods, processes and systems to extract knowledge or a better understanding of data in its different forms, whether structured or unstructured.
In this new paradigm we use statistical techniques, machine learning and artificial intelligence, which allows us to identify patterns that help to highlight and properly discriminate the interesting and relevant information of an organization.
